Shopify App Pricing: Plan Feature Targeting
Shopify developer change
MerchantDiff detected this entry in Shopify's official developer changelog on October 28, 2026.
This Shopify update is categorized as App store, New.
What changed
The plan editor in the Partner Dashboard has a new Store requirements section for public plans. You can select one or both of these requirements: Checkout UI extensions (all pages) and branding customizations: The store can use app customizations on every step of checkout. Direct company catalogs (B2B): The store can assign catalogs directly to its B2B customers. Shopify checks the requirements on the plan selection page and again when the merchant approves the charge. On the plan selection page, the select button is unavailable on plans that the store does not qualify for.
Who is affected
Store requirements are available only on public plans in Shopify App Pricing. They are not available on private plans or on charges that you create with the Billing API. Requirements do not change existing subscriptions: A merchant with an active subscription keeps the plan when you add or change its requirements.
What action may be needed
No action is required. Add a store requirement only when a plan cannot work without the feature. Every store without the feature is blocked from the plan. To add a store requirement: Open the plan editor for a public plan.
